Annual Conference

Our in-person conference is back! This one-day event is ideal for crime fiction readers, writers, and publishing pros. With a single track of panels and keynote conversations, the Midwest Mystery Conference is a great opportunity to connect with your favorite authors, and meet a few new ones!

The venue is fully accessible and registration includes a tote bag full of books and goodies!

Keynote Speakers:

David Ellis is a judge and an Edgar-award-winning author of ten novels of crime fiction, as well as eight bestselling books co-authored with James Patterson. His novels have been translated into more than ten languages worldwide. In December 2014, Dave was sworn in as the youngest-serving Justice of the Illinois Appellate Court for the First District. He lives outside Chicago with his wife and three children. LOOK CLOSER, his most recent novel, is a psychological thriller set in Chicago.

Vanessa Riley is an award-winning author of ISLAND QUEEN, A Good Morning America Buzz Pick. Riley’s historical novels showcase the hidden histories of Black women and women of color, emphasizing strong sisterhoods and dazzling multicultural communities. Her works encompass historical fiction, historical romance, and historical mystery and have been reviewed by the AAMBC, Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly, NPR, Publisher Weekly, and The New York Times. She made her mystery debut this year with MURDER IN WESTMINSTER, an Amazon Editor’s Pick which Essence Magazine called, “A great read to add to your current must-read lists.”
